  95. ok on packet. I doubt they are going to bother you though. They hardly stop
  96. blatant iterference so why worry about small stuff like that. It is illegal

  184. " T " and " REV " while turning the transceiver on.

  192. I have never open the transceiver to do some mods.
  193. How can I retrieve the old limit values ?
  194. How can I reprogram them ?

  453. I recently purchased a TEN-TEC Omni-D and the thing works great.  I'm
  454. having a good deal of fun making contacts temporarily using my ~80 foot
  455. dog run as a wire antenna (usually low power and definitely with no
  456. dog attached).  The rig came with all the filters, but no noise blanker.
  457. I am new to this game and wondered what the noise blanker would buy me.
  458. The filters really let me single out the CW ops in a crowd (but they need
  459. to be relatively strong).  I am guessing the noise blanker would be of
  460. better use with SSB.  By virtue of its name I would say the blanker
  461. reduces the background static.  Am I far wrong and is this a useful
  462. feature on this rig?

  485. impulse noise (car ignitions, light dimmers).  They 
  486. have little effect however on atmospheric background
  487. like the kind you hear on 40 & 80 meters.

  562. I've seen this argument posited before, I'm not sure if it's real or 
  563. not.  Anyone who thinks that the non-existence of a product means that 
  564. ads for it are not advertisements should look at the last couple months 
  565. of QST. Lots of companies advertise before the product is actually 
  566. available.  (Sorta like President Clinton and the health care program)

  605. Indeed.  I think that they are called `Teasers' - a common marketing
  606. ploy.  It is used to signal prospective customers and competitors. To
  607. competitors: better watch out, I am going to come out with this new product.
